The warming spring weather was cooled in April particularly by Microsoft 365 account breaches, which were reported to the NCSC-FI in higher numbers than in March. Rain showers also arrived during the month in the form of vulnerabilities disclosed in several different products.

Perhaps the biggest topic of discussion during the month was AI-based vulnerability scanning, given the capabilities it offers. Advanced AI solutions are expected to enhance malicious vulnerability discovery and increase the number of exploitable vulnerabilities. At the same time, they also offer opportunities to improve organisations’ risk management and cybersecurity.

Cyber threats are expected to remain at a typical level in the coming months.
