Under the NIS 2 Directive, essential and important entities must notify the supervisory authority responsible for the relevant sector of any significant incidents involving the communications networks and information systems they use.

This service enables the notification of significant incidents in accordance with the EU’s NIS 2 Directive to the supervisory authorities of different sectors. Entities within the scope of the Directive are required to notify significant incidents to the supervisory authority responsible for the sector in question. This service can be used to submit early warnings, incident notifications and final reports about significant incidents. The service can also be used to submit voluntary notifications for other incidents than significant ones.

All notifications sent via the service are also notified to the CSIRT at the National Cyber Security Centre Finland (NCSC-FI).

When submitting a notification, it is also possible to request the CSIRT for help in handling the incident and submit more detailed information about the case to the CSIRT in confidence.

The NCSC-FI at the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency also acts as the national single point of contact that coordinates cooperation among national supervisory authorities and acts as the Finnish point of contact in information exchange between EU Member States.
