Information security now!

The 2025–2027 Work Programme of the Digital Europe Programme was published at the end of March. A total of EUR 390 million has been allocated to cybersecurity. The upcoming calls will focus, among other things, on the development of new technologies, such as artificial intelligence and quantum-safe algorithms. The first calls will open during 2025.

The European Commission has published the next Work Programme of the Digital Europe Programme, which outlines the funding priorities for the years 2025–2027. A separate Work Programme for cybersecurity has also been published for the same period.

The cybersecurity domain has been allocated EUR 390 million for the next three years. EUR 142 million will be directed to the deployment of new technologies, such as AI and quantum-safe algorithms. EUR 121 million is reserved to support organisations in complying with new regulations. EUR 118 million will be used to strengthen cyber resilience, and EUR 9 million is allocated to other support actions.

In 2025, the calls will focus on, for example, the adoption of AI in cybersecurity solutions, the development of quantum-safe solutions and their testing infrastructure, and supporting cybersecurity for SMEs. In addition, a specific consortium call will be targeted at healthcare providers and organisations offering cybersecurity solutions for the healthcare sector.

According to the preliminary schedule, the first new funding round will open between April and June 2025 and close between October and December 2025. The remaining calls for 2025 will also open during the latter period. The exact opening dates for the calls have not yet been confirmed.
